Getting no sound from audio CDs.
Issue:Getting no sound from audio CDs.
Cause:Sound settings not properly setup.
Audio cable not properly connected.
Solution:If you are using Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000,
Windows ME, or Windows XP, verify that the CD Audio is turned up properly by following
the below steps.
1. Verify that a Sound Icon
is on the bottom right hand side of the screen and that your sound is
working properly elsewhere.
If you do not see this icon or you have no sound everywhere, refer to
document CH000208
2. If present, double-click the sound icon to bring up the sound
properties.
3. Verify that the CD-ROM or CD Audio option is turned up mid way or
more and that it is not checked on Mute.
4. Check Multimedia properties by following the below steps:
- Click Start / Settings / Control Panel
- Double-click the Multimedia icon
- Click the CD Music tab
- Verify that CD Music Volume
- Verify that the volume is turned up mid-way or more.
If following the above instructions your CD Audio still is not
working properly, verify that the audio cable is connected properly by
referring to document CH000213.
