CERN

Short for Conseil Europen pour la Recherche Nuclaire, CERN is a laboratory that was established on September 29, 1954 and today is the world's largest particle physics laboratory. In 1990, Tim Berners-Lee working with Robert Cailliau at CERN proposed a hypertext system, which is the first start of the Internet as we know it today.
