Configuration

  1. When referring to a computer the configuration is the overall way of how a computer is setup; this pertains to both hardware and software.
  2. Also known as configure, config is the initial or finalizing steps done when a software program is installed or steps that are performed before a program is ran. For example, many programs have a configuration file that help setup a program or initialize the required software and hardware needed for it to run.
  3. Config is also a common abbreviation for the config.sys a configuration file.
