RFC

Short for Request For Comments, RFCs are notes that began being created on April 7, 1969. with the introduction of Host-to-Host and IMP software by Steve Crocker with the UCLA. RFC notes contain information about computer communication, network protocols, procedures, programs, etc...  Each RFC has a unique number preceded by the letters RFC. If a revision needs to be made to a RFC a new number must be given to it. An example of a a RFC is RFC2070, which is the Internationalization of the Hypertext Markup Language RFC.
