DISABLING NAVIGATOR
This is all dependent upon which version of
Navigator your have; however, here are the three ways to disable
it. One of the below methods will disable Navigator from
automatically loading.
1.) Ensure that it is not in the startup folder;
you can check this by clicking on start / programs / startup. If
you do not see Navigator listed under startup, skip to #2. If you
do see Navigator, click start / settings / taskbar / click the tab
start menu programs / advanced / click the folder that says
programs / then click the folder that says startup; highlight
navigator and press del on your keyboard, say yes and that should
resolve the issue.
2.) If Navigator was not in the startup folder
then click start / run / type in win.ini / look for a run= line,
usually the 2,3,4 line, see if there is a statement saying C:\NAV\NAV.EXE
If you do not see this, skip to step #3; if you see this, delete just
the C:\NAV\NAV.EXE and this should eliminate Navigator from
loading up at startup. If it does not, you may want to edit the
win.ini by following the steps above and put a ; (semicolon) in
front of RUN= this will remark the line and should make Navigator
not load up at startup.
3.) Usually, if the first two were not able to stop
Navigator from loading, you will have one of the newest versions
such as 3.9. To disable this, you will need to click on start / run
/ type in system.ini search for startnav.dll or something similar;
it should be related to nav and usually will be on the drivers=
line in the [boot] section.
